a whole NEEW (OLLAH) world

Aladdin_jasmine_carpet_copy So, if you spell the capitalised letters in the title backwards you get…? Happy Pumpkin Pickin’ guys! (I designed this pic for fun!) It’s also the season where MANY people around me are lovesick, including myself. Well, nothing that a bit of music won’t help right? I recently discovered that the singing voice of Aladdin had changed his name from Brad Kane to Caleb Kane. No wonder I haven’t been able to keep track of his career!! His full name is Bradley Caleb Kane so technically, he’s still been using his real name. And while researching him on Youtube, I found some cool versions of "A Whole New World"! They aren’t new but they sure are great additions to the 13 over versions I have already! Check them out here and here.

Vivo City

Image_00250Image_00251 Singapore celebrates the opening of yet another huge shopping mall, Vivo City. Only about 60% of the shops are open but the difference is there is a higher percentage of unique shops here rather than the common chains which makes every mall a bit of the same ol’ thing. And the shops are also deeper in retail space.

The most interesting experience has got to be the food court. While it is a great idea to separate halal and non-halal sections (muslim and non-muslim food), this should have been made clearer before a party of people decide on food from both sections but realise later they cannot sit together.

I watched "World Trade Center" with a bunch of twats in the audience who had no respect for what was going on on the screen. If not for not wanting to be no better than them, I would have stood up and kicked them out personally or have them locked up at the zoo.

Food for Thought

Image_00234Image_00242 Oh! Nothin’ but a nice lazy sunday. Forbidden City has finished its run and I’ve decided to stay on in Singapore till Dec for another musical, playing the title role in The Gingerbread Man.

Singapore pampers me. The jobs I’ve landed here have already included teaching, 2 musicals, cartoon voiceovers, tv and hosting. I’ve included some pictures from the tv shoot which had me love making in the forest (argh!) and driving a car.. a Lotus?! (I don’t drive!).

The haze from the forest fires in Indonesia have been really bad here. Worse then walking into a badly ventilated smokey pub. Luckily this was after one of my best friends took me up to Mt. Faber for a lovely steamboat meal. It’s where you throw in uncooked food of your choice into a huge pot of boiling water and fish it all out to devour when it’s ready. I’ve eaten like a king here. Singapore is really food paradise! *burp*
