Pixar

One_man_bandZoetropePIXAR celebrates its 20th anniversary with the largest animation exhibition yet, at the Musuem of Modern Art (MOMA) in NY. The behind-the-scenes concept isn’t new. Both Disneyworld and Pixar DVDs give insight to this process. I’ve certainly experienced both, yet I was pleasantly surprised and entertained by new artworks, new videos and new exhbits. One of the highlights would have to be Pixar’s Zoetrope (see right pic). It spins and strobe lights come on to create 3D animation.  The Zoetrope isn’t Pixar’s creation of course. It was conceptualised by Studio Ghibli (Gregory Barsamian and Toshio Iwai). Art inspires art and I certainly was inspired to become as good as all that I saw. Oh well, in another life maybe?
