Chill Out

Wednesday, August 24th, 2005

Image_00201There are beautiful free spaces like these in New York where you can just sit out in the sun and watch people go by and relax and destress. I should spend more time sitting out before it starts to get cold and snow again. Especially now that I’m going to be between houses. I need to chill.

School was getting to me today. Some people in class are beginning to get on my nerves with their constant little pranks and jokes which really distract me. We all pay good money to learn. I wonder why some choose to throw good money to waste or worse depreciate everyone else’s.

Then there are lazy group members who simply cannot motivate themselves but rely on you to do it, otherwise the project suffers and everyone takes the blame. This isn’t a new experience for me, but I guess it will never go away. Oh the number of things I might do to these people!

Lucky to be Me

Image_00198 I’m not sure what’s up, but I haven’t been as diligent taking pictures. But so far, so good. I’ve done with my second semester mid-terms. The only grades I got back so far are A for Acting and A- for Jazz! Nice! And my kind new roomies let me put 6 boxes of my things at the new apartment. The move was tedious. Ian and Cheryl who have returned to Singapore, donated their queen sized mattress, two tables and a down comforter for my new room (thank you guys!).

Kiat Sing who got the MDA scholarship for her studies at Columbia University (congrats!) will be here soon and has kindly allowed me stay at her place till my new place is available. Melissa Wong is here too studying at NYU and my good friend’s sister will be here with her husband. I’m in great and will be in great Singaporean company! A team of student reporters from my alma mater will also be coming in October. They’ve been "contracted" to write stories for various publications in Singapore and they’re going to help me write my follow-up story for Lime magazine about my adventures here.

I ran into Jon Bon Jovi shooting some video clip I think. Try to see if you can spot him. =)
