A chain Book Blog

I have been tagged with this great chain post on the blogosphere by Cary Patrick , a friend I met on Friendster itself. And the tag requires me to answer the following… so enjoy!
1. Total number of books I own: This is so hard. I’m not in Singapore right now to count them and I own a ton of books. Already I have about 45 books with me in New York. I would make an estimate of at least 450 books in total including the 45 with me. They have a wide range from scatters of cookbooks and romance novels to animation and art. The ones that are of sizable portion are my early teenage fiction, fantasy novels (1/4 Dragonlance), french, self-help and everything to do with theater.
2. Last book I bought: Dragonlance’s Amber and Ashes by Margaret Weis.
3. Last book I read: Gaudy Night by Dorothy L. Sayers. A mystery novel about the cryptic ongoings in a college environment amongst scholastic women. Not only was it an intriguing, cleverly weaved mystery, it drew out and discussed many important values of life particularly about love and duty. Very much recommended.
4. Five books of notable influence on me:
1. Gaudy Night by Dorothy Sayers, the book aforementioned.
2. Respect for Acting by Uta Hagen. A great perspective on acting for any actor being introduced to the world or any actor who wishes to hone and refine his skill. It’s a great book to re-read to constantly remind oneself of the technique and the commitment the art requires.
3. The World of Music Comedy by Stanley Green. The title confuses slightly. This book really covers the history of musical theater and introduces it composer by composer in choronological order. Now I know the history of the industry I love so much. My remaining job is the try to remember everything that I’ve read!
4. Aladdin: The Making of An Animated Film. This book introduced me to all the wonders that go into making one of my favourite animated Disney movie musicals. Since reading it, I have pursued other books and have started work with aspirations to pen my own.
5. The Bible. Need I say more?
5. Five poor bastards to tag with this: This is going to be hard. I don’t think I know five people who blog. Here goes!
Shou Chen radio personality cum actor.
Kenneth Lyen my doctor friend with a fervent passion for the arts.
Okay I’ve truly exhausted my list. And if my tag is deemed void then you two are spared? Cary?!

NONE SHALL BE SPARED!!!!!
(insert evil laugh)
Nope, the tag isn’t void, although you’ll have to make up three tags when you meet more people!
Great post, you learn a lot about different people by what they read.
